Ruffled Bouquet Bunch

Hi Crafters,

I have had my first play with the Bouquet Bunch dies and they are gorgeous!  A must have for any crafty stash.  I paired the dies with the Jar of Love stamp set and the Everyday Jars dies.

I have used a ton of cool stuff on this card!  I created a card blank from Whisper White thick cardstock and then added a layer of Night of Navy cardstock which I had embossed with the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I used a sponge to ink over the navy cardstock in Whisper White.  I think this almost looks a bit like denim.

I  stamped in Versamark and heat embossed my jar in white onto vellum.  I coloured the jar from the back to look like water but I'm not sure I achieved the right effect.  The bunch of flowers were cut from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits and I also added a touch of Wink of Stella which hasn't photographed well.  I only adhered the centres of each flower cluster to give some dimension.  Finally I added the copper sequins from the Metallics Assortment with liquid multipurpose glue.

I have chosen to leave this card without a sentiment for the moment.  I will probably add one later before sending it out.

Happy crafting,

Dazzling Diamonds Dragonflies

Hi Crafters,

I'm mixing the old with the new for today's card and it also features a couple of my favourite Stampin' Up! dies and stamps.  Although I'll admit that I do have a lot of favourites!

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and simply stamped the leaves from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set all around the outside edge in Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive.  I cut the dragonflies from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered with some Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment at the top is stamped from the You Move Me stamp set in Old Olive onto Old Olive cardstock and I attached with a couple of staples.  To create the banner shape I used a die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits set but you could easily do this with a pair of scissors.  Cut up the middle and then come in from each side to create the points.

Do you have an favourite returning set that you love to use with one of the new stamp sets?  I'd love to know, so leave me a comment.

Happy crafting,

Colorful Seasons - Just Breathe

Hi Crafters,

Sometimes we need to take time out to remind ourselves that we are human beings not human doings.  This is a popular phrase that my boyfriend uses to describe me when I have been burning the candle at both ends!  Although, he is right and today's card is a reminder to just breathe.

My card blank was made using Whisper White cardstock.  I toyed around with different colours of card blank but the white really made the stamping pop.  I stamped in Craft White ink for the branches and then added a line underneath using a watercolor pencil in Chocolate Chip.  I stamped the flowers first in White and then used third generation Berry Burst to added the offset colour.  My butterfly came from the Move Me thinlits which are a must have if you like butterflies.

Do you have any great techniques for taking time out for yourself?  I'd love to hear them.

Happy crafting,

Watercolour Floral Thanks

Hi Crafters,

As promised, I'm back with another card featuring the Floral Statements stamp set.  This time I have had some fun watercolouring using my Aqua Painters and the fabulous Stampin' Up! ink.  To create a palette, simply squeeze the ink pad to push the ink into the lid and then you can pick up the colour with a paint brush or Aqua Painter.

I created my card blank in Soft Sky cardstock and then used Watercolor paper for my main image.  I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival ink which is a permanent ink and won't react to water.  I watercoloured the background in Soft Sky, the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and the flowers in Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.  Finally I added some gold sequins and rounded two of the corners.

If you would like to purchase any of the products used in my sample, just click on the links below.  Don't forget to use the July Host Code for a little extra something from me.

Happy crafting,
